About

Take a Cat and Dog Walk
We’re all about bringing a contemporary and unique music blend of rock, lues, country, and folk to Topeka, mixing passion, fun, and a love for music that drives every performance and moment with Ginger Cat and the Dirt Road Dogs Band.
Catness and Dogness
Meet the lovely artists behind Ginger Cat and the Dirt Road Dogz Band.

Cat Foster
Lead Vocalist/Guitar
Music is in Cat’s blood—her dad was a singer-songwriter, and so she grew up singing, even rocking “I Love Rock and Roll” in her kindergarten talent show. After her divorce years back, she picked up the guitar and started writing. Since then, Cat has recorded eight originals (and counting). Writing is her therapy and performing is her joy. She says that performing with this band, she gets to share both—mixing her own songs with a variety of crowd-pleasing covers.

Chris Moran
Guitar/Keyboard
In 1976, the radio station V-100 went on the air. One of the first songs they played was “More than Feeling” by the band Boston. From that moment, Chris wanted to play guitar (plus he says it was a great way to get attention from girls). From punk rock to Americana, Chris has always found peace and joy in creating music.

Sam Hopper
Drummer
Sam has been playing drums for decades, starting as a kid banging on anything he could find. Behind the kit, Sam focuses on locking in with the band and feeling the groove — it’s where everything else fades and he’s fully in the moment. Sam looks at music like an energy exchange: he feeds off the crowd’s vibe and sends it back tenfold, creating a loop that fires up both the band and the audience.

Ben Stanton
Bull Fiddle/Vocals
Ben has a degree in music and has had the opportunity to perform trombone with amazing musicians in various orchestras, jazz combos, and big bands, and on bass in jazz, classic rock, psychedelic, and punk rock. On guitar, he’ll usually play American and Irish folk music. He is motivated in this band by getting to work with musicians that are just downright good people.
